Leadership Development Program
The Aetna Information Services (AIS) Leadership Development Program (LDP) is a fast-track rotational program that will allow you to develop technical, business and leadership skills allowing you to accelerate your professional growth. This is more than just a job - it's a potential career path.

LDP participants rotate through a series of challenging projects and technical assignments within Aetna Information Services and other selected Aetna business areas in our Pennsylvania and Connecticut offices. These assignments last approximately eight months each and most members complete the program in a 3 year timeframe.

Rotational stops may include assignments in the following disciplines:

  • Infrastructure and Networking
  • Application Development
  • IT Architecture
  • Software Testing
  • Database Management
  • Project Management
  • Strategic Planning

The Leadership Development Program will expose participants to various opportunities that result in delivering real business results. LDP participants are trained, coached and evaluated to help them achieve optimum performance. At the end of the Program, successful participants will bid on open positions within Aetna Information Services organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. in computer science or management information systems, engineering, business-related disciplines or the sciences
  • 3.3 GPA
  • Demonstrated strong communication, analytical, team, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Previous intern/co-op work experience preferred

Summer Internship Program
Consider several career possibilities in IT without having to make a long-term career commitment. Learn first-hand from Aetna management what it takes to lead and succeed in an industry that thrives on change. Develop skills that can lead to full-time opportunities in the years to come.

At Aetna, we have created an internship program that is unique in our industry. Aetna Information Services (AIS) undergraduate interns use their talents, gain exposure to different areas within the company, and learn by doing real work in a highly technical business environment. AIS internships provide the opportunity to formally integrate academic knowledge with real-life experience, and explore career interests through productive and exciting work assignments.

The AIS Summer Internship Program typically runs for 10 to 12 weeks, beginning in late May and ending in mid-August. Internships often are available in the following disciplines:

  • Software Testing
  • Application Development
  • Project Support
  • Database Management
  • IT Architecture
  • User and Infrastructure Support
  • Networking

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer science, computer engineering, management information services, business administration; other related majors also considered
  • Completion of 45 semester hours
  • 3.0+ GPA
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
