Photograph of Katherine Fry Katherine Fry is the chief of staff to the Chairman, CEO and President, Mark T. Bertolini, and is head of Mergers and Acquisitions Integration. Ms. Fry supports Mr. Bertolini in coordinating enterprise activities that will help Aetna achieve its strategic business priorities. She also leads the day-to-day operations of the Office of the Chairman, CEO and President.

Ms. Fry’s highly successful career includes nearly 20 years of experience in the health care industry. Ms. Fry joined Aetna’s Finance organization on June 16, 2008 as CFO supporting Aetna’s Government and Business Alliances business unit.  She was also responsible for managing the finance team that supported Government and Business Alliances.

In October of 2008, Ms. Fry assumed the CFO role for National Accounts and became a member of the National Accounts leadership team. She was responsible for driving profitable growth through disciplined financial management.

Prior to joining Aetna, Ms. Fry was head of field financial operations at AmeriChoice, for United Healthcare, with eleven CFOs in 13 markets.  Prior to United, she held several finance leadership roles at CIGNA, including Business Financial Officer, Business Segments; and Chief Accounting Officer, Healthcare. 

Ms. Fry started her health care career with PacifiCare in Phoenix, where she was CFO for the Desert Region.  In addition, she has audit experience from her tenure at Deloitte & Touche.

Ms. Fry has a B.S. in accounting from Valparaiso University.  She and her family live in Avon, CT.
