While no one likes to think about it, debilitating accidents or illnesses can happen at any time. And when they do, lives can change in an instant - sometimes permanently. Employer disability management insurance programs are designed to help employees and employers deal with these changes in a positive, mutually beneficial way. In short, these programs help employees return to work as quickly as possible.

Most people who are out of work with some type of disability are terrified of losing their job. They want to return to work. But they do not know how to approach an early return to work if they are not completely recovered – nor do many of their doctors. It is up to the employer to take the lead and encourage assistance when dealing with early return to work.

More importantly, does it support an overall philosophy to encourage employees back to work while they are recovering from illnesses or disabilities?
